~The Cherokee fall into the group "Cherokee", or, more correctly, "Aniyunwiya" and they spoke a unique Irokese dialect. As to their geographic distribution, you'll have the specify the sub-group and time period to which you refer. If all else fails, look them up. There's some fascinating material there.

First off it is just Cherokees and it is Eastern Woodland or one of the Five Civilized Tribes.
