Replacing a new fuel pump in a 94 explorer.
Brand new, from "MAC auto parts"
Says i need to clean the gas tank,
How do i go about doing that?

This is a do it yourself job, "cant afford" to take it to a shop!

easiest way and the best way is to take it to a radiator/fuel tank repair shop that can rot the tank out. that is if it needs to be cleaned. most of the time the tank is just fine. if you drop the tank and remove the fuel pump look inside with a flash light. if you dont see any rust or brownish colored fuel or chunks of junk or water then i wouldn't worry about it. 9 times out of 10 even at dealerships the tanks are never sent out to be cleaned because there just fine. suggest just doing a visual inspection and look for debree or rust. if none then reassemble and forget it.

ok what it saying , you want to make sure their no dirt are trash in the tank,,,,an if the truck been sitting up for a long time , to wash it out with clean gas
