Sometimes you will have a seepage for a few days and before your water breaks and you'll know it's going to happen soon but not exactly when. Most of the time it just happens with no warning. Sometimes it happens before you experience any pain of contractions and can be at any time during labor. When I had my youngest the doctor had to break my water when I was on the delivery table. It happens differently with almost every pregnancy.

You don't know when your water will break unless someone is there with an amniohook and is getting ready to break it. I heard 3 distinct pops when my waters started leaking with my last 2 babies, and it leaked for 3 days before I went into labor.

Vampire_kitti, where in hell did you get that info? Spreading around that kind of blantent MISinformation is why so many women are uneducated and afraid of birth. Your waters can break days or hours before birth, or they may not break at all and the baby will be born in the caul. Take some time to read up on how the birthing process really works.

some peoples water breaks and it is a gush of fluid. Mine was the opposite. It was like a constant trickle. I was going to the bathroom and heard a pop but didn't think anything of it. I thought I was done going to the bathroom but apparently I wasn't, here my water had broke, that was the pop, and was trickling into the toilet which is why I thought I was not done going to the bathroom. That was with my first. Now with my second, I went into labor and the nurse had to break my water. I did not hear any bubbles, I heard a pop. Good luck

Your water breaking is not like it is on TV where the water breaking is a sign to go to the hospital. After the water breaks it's too late to go to the hospital, the baby is coming. You will have contractions that increase in intensity before the water breaks, and you won't know when it's about to happen but the doctor will be able to tell approximately when..
