My son received a traditional Korean outfit as a gift for his first birthday. It's beautiful, but I'm not sure how to wear it.

There is a top with long wide sleeves, but no sash or buttons to close it. There is a vest, also with no sash or buttons. (There is also a hat and a pair of pants too, which of course I know how to wear!)

When I searched for photos online, it seems that most of the outfits have a sash to tie the shirt together... Without it, how to you keep the undershirt from showing? What to Koreans typically wear underneath this outfit? Also, does the vest go OUTSIDE of the shirt?

Thanks!

I refer you to this webpage about the outfit you describe, the hanbok. In particular I bring to your attention the footnote, which reads: "For Further information on Hanbok, please contact to us and we will be more than happy to answer your questions." It has an e-mail link.
