java is a Object oriented programming language. unlike c it is portable i.e. u can run the program u made in any platform u like. this is what makes it special.

its actually a scripting language, its the most powerfull one and its on a par with c++. java is better as its platform independant and has aditional functinos such as reflection(advanced). it can do anything c++ or othe language can and is not quite as fast as c++ but then its OO and with theJIT avalible and native C++ calls its easilly the best, oh adn its also easier to understand and read.
