Thing is I want to deliberately draw an "X" on the collar of my white shirt with a black sharpie marker. If I wash this shirt (alone), will the ink bleed into the shirt, or will I get a clear drawn "X" even after washing and drying? Thanks if you know!

If you are careful to not allow to much of the marker's ink to seep into the material when you make your mark (write quickly and lightly) you will have no problem with bleeding after the ink dries. We use it all the time to mark scrubs and the ink never bleeds. The original marking will look as it was when you made it as long as you let it set before washing.

It will probably bleed a bit. Try making the mark on the tshirt while its wet, wait for it to dry and then go over it again with the sharpie to define the edges.

You can get laundry markers that won't bleed. Try rub-a-dub brand.

If it is completely dry it shouldn't bleed all over the shirt when you wash it but it will make a fatter line than the marker tip when you first draw it on.

A Sharpie marker will bleed and will permanently stain your shirt.

Oh, hell yeah. I left one in my shirt pocket without the cap on. Luckily it's a dark shirt!
