So that cricket is played in a uniform and standardised way in all countries at all levels.
Fielders run to collect balls, dive to save balls, get in funny positions to take catches, do anything on the field to win matches. White signifies gentlemen behavior , but at the end of the match, with green, yellow colour and grass - cricketers look like hungry lions, who are still unsatisfied by their prey.....

It's a tradition made because the ball used in test cricket was red in colour, If the colour of the dress would have been other than white the batsman would have faced difficulties in locating the position of the ball while playing. The Side screen are also white in test cricket. Now a days, in one days the colour of ball is white, please notice that none of the team in the world had been provided with white dress by ICC, neither the side screns are white, they are black. It's all about the colour of the ball.

It is because if they start wearing coloured dresses ,they will realy feel the heat as most of the colours used by different countries absorb light.So,white is a colour which reflects heat to a large extent.it is needed that for staying cool during the match as it is to be played for five days

Each team play for their own country & represent.
White colour is for peace.They are massenger of Peace,.thats why in Test cricket ,player wear white colour.

Test cricket is entirely a gentleman's game and needs gentlemanly attire. No colours like entertainers over here.

test cricket is slow form of cricket. you have 2 be on field for almost a day. so for protection from heat thier clothes are white. because scientifically white colour reflects heat.

White color is the best to defend body over heating. It deflcts the light rather then absorbing it. So it keeps the players bodies from heating up fast

IN TEST CRICKET WE USE RED BALLS, WHEN THE BATSMAN RECEIVES THE BALL THE BACKGROUND SHOULD NOT DISTURB HIM BY MOVEMENT.ON THE WHITE BACKGROUND RED BALL CAN BE SEEN CLEARLY. IF THE BOWLER WEARS COLOUR DRESS THEN IT WILL DISTRACT THE BATSMAN.ANOTHER IMPORTANT REASON IS WHITE DRESS REFLECTS ALL THE LIGHT RAYS FROM SUN THERE BY HEAT IS REDUCED.

even if colour dresses wear, the colour will disappear day by day upto 5 days test match.
