Import POP account folders into Outlook.?

Question

up to several weeks ago I used to work in a company where I used a POP account. Now I require information which I stored in several folders, the tech department gave me the POP3 number but I am only able to import the Inbox mail but not the folders. They say that is not possible to import the folders but I don´t think is true. Please don´t tell me to move the mails to the inbox because it´s useless.

By Outlook you mean Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook.

If its Microsoft Outlook all the mails are stored in one file with an extension .pst.

Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Mail > Data Files and you can see where your PST file is located.

Copy the same file to your new system. Go to the above settings add the data file and go to account settings and select the new data file you have just added.

Now all your old mails and folders would be back and your new mails would go into the same data file.

If you are using Outlook Express there would be Data file one for each folde you have created in c:\documents and settings\user name\local settings\microsoft\outlook.

Check the Location it would be either local settings or application data.

Its been some time i have used Outlook Express

And also these folders would be hidden make sure that you select show all files in folder options.

Just copy the data files to your new system and all your folder and mails would be back.
