I had an accident and now the front bumper has about one inch deep cut in the corner by the fender.

depending on the original composition of the bumper it is possible. there are urethane compounds that can be purchased that will make repairs, they do require prep and paint afterwards. i bought an aftermarket bumper for a car before and it didnt fit right and there was a gouge in it from shipping. i was able to repair this by using the compound and sanding it after 12 hours of dry time.

best bet would be to take it to a good body shop and get a professional opinion of the damages. there may have been damage to the mounts for the bumper also. sometimes its cheaper to just buy the part new or search the junkyards.

yes and no actually. you must first find a really really good body shop that has the correct tools and a knowledgeable staff that knows how to repair plastic. they do make a melder for plastic as well as some really nifty synthetic adhesives to repair. most shops however these days just replace the cracked part with new oem parts.

for small cracks ppl at workshop put a small piece of plastic on the inner side and apply heat before painting it ... this way the crack can be concealed..
