I'm a trance and hard dance fan.....not big into depeche mode. I've always heard of them, but only knew their music threw a linkin' park mix of one of their songs. I bougth that album and loved it(not hte linkin park mix......playing the angel . Just wondering before i buy more older depeche mode albums what people think of it. Is it their style?...or is it something different?

Playing the Angel is quite different from their old stuff. However, there are several other DM albums that have a similar edge...
Ultra (1997)
Songs of Faith and Devotion(1993)
Exciter(2001)
Those three are pretty close to the harder edge of Playing the Angel. Enjoy!
