Our highs have been 0 and lows -20. Should we try to get the egg off now? Or wait until it warms up? I am afraid of the paint coming off with the egg..

I would heat a large pan of water to boiling and pour it over the egg. Then wipe it off. Keep scrubbing until it's all gone. If you leave it for long, the paint will, indeed, come off with the egg.

The egg won't eat through the paint, so you can wait till it is warmer to take it off.

Use warm soapy water and clean it off. The longer it stay on the more damage it will cause.
