I think that you have to be born with a creative mind. I am ADD, and was born with a right-brain, which is the creative side. I've been creative because of that my entire life. If you're a left-brainer, take a course on something that you're interested in, maybe you could make it happen.

there are many methods mentioned in psychology books, which discuss more of the theories than "how to." Some people have written entire books about it. No one can teach someone who does not believe they are creative how to be creative. You have to decide to allow yourself to become creative.
All my life I have loved art, but early on I didn't know what to draw, or paint, or build. College art classes helped, but I still didn't know it was already inside me. Finally I heard something that helped me discover how to develop my creativity.
Our dreams are our minds dreaming up stuff. Creativity. The more we are interested in, the more we dream. Start by writing down our dreams when we wake up in the morning. Where you go from here depends on what you want to create. Are you an aspiring writer? an artist? a dancer? Just before you go to sleep at night, think about what it is you want to create. Keep a notebook and a pencil by your bed. When you dream, your mind is trying to answer your question.
Sometimes it seems like we just can't get the answer. That's because we demand of oursleves that we come up with amazing answers immediately. Honestly, the brilliance comes slowly, we have to start whereever it is we start, and build from there. It will happen.

Karenharv is right about a right side-brain. Start using your left hand , where ever necessary to do simple tasks . It will improve your right side-brain and may be your creative mind also.

Take the zen perspective. Too much thinking produces too little results. Balance the Do with the Jitsu. Don't ponder too many circular questions and don't pursue unending answers.
