sure, you should see one once a year anyhow once you mature to keep yourself in good health. they check for diseases, not just stds. cancers and bacteria and infection, etc. plus you should get birth control just in case the condom breaks. you are old enough to be sexually active so you should be responsible enough to make sure you stay in good health and not get pregnant until you are ready. i hope your first was a pleasant experience with someone special. good luck to you.

You can go to your local Planned Parenthood to get all kinds of info on birth control and STDs. I would HIGHLY recommend that you get the new HPV vaccine.
Planned Parenthood is NOT just a place to go to get an abortion.... they will GIVE you birth control, condoms, your pap smear, everything a woman needs, now that you have "joined the club". Just call the 800 operator and get the 800 number, or look in your yellow pages and make an appointment. Don't be embarrassed. Everyone there is there for the same reasons you are.

And be sure to get that HPV vaccine. TRUST ME, it will save your life. I wish it had been around for me about 10 years ago when i contracted HPV.. I just got out of the hospital last month after having a total hysterectomy... that is the only cure for the cancer that this virus causes! And I have no children!

Please be safe, be sure you are good to yourself, and please be sure you are truly being loved, ok?

yep- or planned parenting. You need to start pap's, have full tests for diseases if you havn't already done so, and look into what contraceptive is going to suit you- unless your wanting to have kids now- then you should still see a gyno

When you start becoming sexually active you need to start getting your regular pap smears, if you are not getting them already. If anything, go get yourself some birthcontrol.
