if your running windows the go to start, then right click on my computer, then go to properties, then go to advanced, then under performance go to settings, then go to the advanced tab again, then down the bottom you will see virtual memory... click that and change it to what it recommends... it would be a good idea to go out and get some more RAM from you local computer shop and this will solve your problems

That error normally means that your hard drive is too full. Windows Virtual Memory is a feature that helps keep your system running by using part of your hard drive as RAM. It reserves a place on your hard drive normally about the same size as you system RAM. However the system takes up more space when it is needed buy the system. When your hard drive is too full to accommodate this it gives you the virtual memory error. The easiest way to fix this is to free up some space on your hard drive. If your using Windows XP you can try going to START/PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/SYS... TOOLS/DISK CLEANUP for starters. Now is also a good time to backup any old unused personal files and remove them from your hard drive as well. If it starts happening often then you may need to consider talking to a local computer store about upgrading your hard drive to a larger one.

2.In the System Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
3.In the Performance pane, click Settings.
4.In the Performance Options dialog box, click the Advanced tab.

I'd say you've got something going on there that is really eating up your memory. The fact that it is alerting you that you are out of virtual memory isn't the cause, its a symptom of something else.

You need to check deeper for spyware, viruses, or other malware.

Consider running adaware and/or spybot.

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM!
HERE'S WHAT I DID:

Set virtual memory to 2 times the RAM you have on your computer for minimum, and 3 times your RAM for maximum.
Example: I have 256 Mb RAM on my computer, so I set the minimum on virtual memory to 512 Mb and maximum to 768 Mb.

The easy way:
right click my computer on your desktop. go to advanced tab. under virtual memory, click change. Under custom, set initial to 2 times your RAM & maximum to 3 times your RAM. click set, ok, ok, ok.

You can do this the hard/long way (if you have XP) by going to start>settings>control panel>performance & mainteneance>advanced. Under performance, click settings, go to advanced tab. under virtual memory, click change. Under custom, set initial to 2 times your RAM & maximum to 3 times your RAM. click set, ok, ok, ok.

****THIS WORKS EVERY TIME!!! I DO NOT GET THE ERROR MESSAGE ANYMORE!!!***
