Not a bad thesis, but it doesn't address the allegory. You are probably expected to come up with an argument that incorporates an analysis of the progression and the allegory. Does the main character (the firefighter, I forget his name) connect with the upward journey of the philosopher? Can you argue that he does? Or, does the storyline itself mirror the ascent and descent? In F451, who are the shadows on the wall of the cave and who are the forms?

Montag's awakening to the reality of his society mirrors Plato's philosophical stance wherein the philosopher comes to realize that what he takes to be reality is only a simulacrum. It requires wisdom to see beyond the illusion and recognise what is "Real".
