First off we have squandered our armed forces in a meaningless war in Iraq. We are not able to fight another war anywhere much less Iran which is a mountainous country with an armed force that have had a few years now to prepare. We will thump our chests and try to look fierce, mainly so politicians can get re-elected and do nothing.
Secondly, We have squandered our deep relationship with our European allies. (Remember Bush and Cheney calling Europeans, "Cowards?")
Third. Iran isn't going to attack anybody. All this media "red-baiting" is just to get you excited and nervous so you stay tuned. Talk to people from Iran. It is a very civilized country and believe it or not the general populace is very moderate. they have put a radical in place because he promised to protect Iran from us after we invaded Afghanistan. He is to Iran what Bush was to the USA, our lord and protector (God help us) from the bogey man. EVERY SINGLE IRANIAN I've talked with (About 5) says that Rastinjani (sp) in power, is the direct result of our invsion policies in the Middle East, plus our support of Israel's Aparteid politics in Palistine.

If we pulled out of Iraq, stopped supporting Isrtael's anihilation of Palistinians but start supporting REAL & FAIR peace negotians where Palistine and Israel would SHARE ALL the land and ALL the resources, we would have nothing to fear from anybody in the Middle East ever again.
But this administration wants oil and are afraid of the radical zionist lobby, so these common sense approaches will not be utilized. Insteaad they will continue to make you fearful by depicting the people of the Middle East as rabid nut-cases who we must kill.

A few weeks' ago, I thought there would be no way that Bush would even consider launching an attack against Iran. Now, in conjunction with Israel, it is more of a real possibility. If it does happen, and it seems likely now, it will be like a tsunami on land. Russia and China have billions of dollars of loan contracts and business dealings with Iran that would be affected. Look for them to lambaste the US and Israel in the UN and elsewhere. They may even try to launch sanctions against us. I don't think Saudi Arabia would change their attitude with us because King Abdullah also hates Ahmadinejad. They see him as another threat in terms of controlling the regional political schemes. Iran is Shia, Saudi is Sunni. Israel, today, requested the US provide it an "air corridor" to Iranian airspace. I think any attacks will bring out major terrorist activity throughout the world, mainly Europe, UK, and US overseas interests.

Probably so 'cos they're SO tough and are yhe bosses of the World!
In fact I see the US attacking IRAN so that it can show just how 'big and tough' it thinks it is. This will no doubt happen if the Republicans are re-elected with any of Bushys influence. If the Republicans try this trick again, in total disregard of US popular opinion, I see them dragging the rest of the Western world into absolute chaos.

When did the rest of us elect the US as the boss?

Even Iran has offered to enter discussion with the US but the US have refused. What idiots are running the Govt over there? Surely the best answer is diplomacy and discussion not huffing and puffing to see who has the biggest........

Yes. The President is pulling identical maneuvers as he did for the war on Iraq. No real proof and the power of suggestion have always been enough for this president to go into battle. He thinks of himself as the President of the World, and as such he feels his Word should never be challenged.
For the rest of the world: I'd say it will be about time for some of the non-US backed countries to call America the New World Terror. Maybe WW3?

no maybe some missiles the whole "shock and awe" spectacle of carnage and dead people who like thier president as much as we do. Since Irans president makes big talk about war and christians while his people suffer economically just like we are as Bush ignores domestic policy while saying we are defend it. Defending what the shrinking middle class the dramatic rise in poverty. A country that is totally dependant on foreign oil, the chinese to clothe us, I bought a piece of plywood on the side it was stamped made in china!! So its cheaper to build wood sheets in china rather than have americans make the same stuff here. Likely we got no wood sheet factories. 700 billion should be spent on that!! Not bombs and supplies for a civil war in Iraq.

Probably. Dubya needs a ratings boost. The World is a lot less safe because of these guys. Any country with oil should be VERY afraid, or if they disagree with Israel.

No all of the talk is a publicity stunt. Also blatant fear mongering by the left.

It only slightly undermines the US diplomacy effort that there is so much talk against a war with Iran now, that Iran is reassured they can ignore US demands.

Any war with Iran would have to be approved by the currently Democratic congress, and that is not going to happen unless Iran starts the fighting, and probably not even then.

why do you think Iran will attack other muslim countries? I think even the most radical presidents of iran will never attack Israel because Iran has a lot of domestic problems and there will be a lot of pressure on nation. And I don't think that US will attack iran, because US can,t control Iraq now!!
