YES. How can a millionaire represent the majority of working class people? The political leaders are out of touch with the average American worker. Example: The senate can vote on their own pay raises. They claim they can not live on the large saleries they get YET they expect working Americans to live on minimum wage and jobs in the service industry. Senators and Congressmen have a special retirement. They can receive this retirement after serving only one term YET these individuals expect the average working American to make it off social security. Recently, the politicians have considered giving illegal
aliens access to social security. What sense does that make?
illegals have not contributed to the social security system, and our politicians are willing to give away what we have worked and saved for. Even the supreme court is against the average working man. The supreme court voted to allow private business to take the property of private individuals to develope profit making ventures. This is not right. We are no longer a country BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE..

Ohhhhhhh, I don't believe so. Blue Collar can't even stay in business today. Now that Grandma Ford is dead, her son wants to sell Ford Motor Company....now that he lost all the money. General Motors is thinking of purchasing it. (Well, I have an inside source....I can't say anything else.) But this is one major example of Blue Collar......White Collar....and All Collar. :>) Ford's MAJOR mistake??? Supporting Activist groups and when other people found out which one, they quit buying Ford Products. Then Ford was pratically giving the stuff away. Now they're billions in the rears.

Private industry cannot afford to 'honor some' just because it is politically correct or socially 'cool.'

No. Blue collar sensibilities might do well, because they'd look out for the working people more, but...we need a university educated president, with plenty of life experience to back up that degree.

The problem with this question is that the President / national leaders dont really decide - their policy advisors and ministers / secretaries put choices before them - and recommend what the best course of action is.

The president just nods.....yes or no! Being a good talker is all that is required (if thats not possible, must be able to read cue cards!).

You betcha! This country is full of college educated blue collar people. Most of them have more realistic life experience than almost any of today's politicians. I know a college educated guy that drives a truck and couldn't stand being couped up anymore.
I know a college educated guy who builds houses. And he actually knows how to use a nail gun and does. This elitist attitude that some people have that all blue collar people are uneducated comes from ignorance and lack of life experience.

No.

Inherently the desires of the masses are often self destructive for the society as a whole.

Unrestricted rule by the "masses" generally leads to socialism or commuism, and similar shortsighted policies that kill the goose laying the golden eggs.

Not necessarily. I don't think that being able to be a trucker, farmer, or industrial worker somehow makes you any more or less qualified than any other job. The measure of someone's abilities, intelligence, and education are not measured simply by the job they hold.
