Well 95% of games are much better on the console then a handheld. I have never played it on either system but I still want to say hands down its better on the gamecube.

well, i liked both versions, but the DS seemed to offer more

i don't trade/play with other people, because i don't know anyone that plays, and my computer is too old to support the DS wifi usb. but there are many things that can be done with other people, besides the unlocked things

but both versions feel like pretty much the same game

if i was to recommend? DS.

the only thing the gamecube had that the DS doesn't is the nintendo games, and you can easily play those without the animal crossing games

I'd go with the DS version. In the DS Version you can visit other villages through the internet.
On the GameCube you had to save your Town to a Memory Card and visit a friend to swap items or do cool stuff together.

On the DS you only exchange friend codes and are able to visit each other through the Internet or (if you're close enough) through the DS's wireless connection.

I think some events or building expansions only happen if another player has visited your Town at least once and bought stuff at Nooks.

I like the DS Animal Crossing much better, it's just more entertaining to me and it feels like there's more to do, it gets you addicted all over again, after I got the DS version, I just traded in my gamecube version. Plus, it's not like they're different versions, yet it's not really a sequel, it's more like Animal Crossing 1.5 as Game Informer Magazine put it. Also, there's no noticable difference in graphics really. Also, you can interact with players all over the world via the internet with the DS version.

Get it for Gamecube, there is a lot more interaction involved for the GC version than the DS version.

BOTH! Gamecube is for potato couch and DS is for people like to travel around or outdoor!

I think they're both good, but the one for the DS is a little better.

I like Game cube cause it's bigger. I love Animal Crossing!!! The only thing I don't like is losing charactors when you visit another town.
