A very difficult question. You said, "Our universe". That implies there may be other universes , I don't know. Einstein once said, "Universe is boundless but finite." According to his general theory of relativity , the continuously expanding universe after the big bang at the time of its formation will shrink afterwards. But now many drawbacks in his theory has been reported. There is no clear cut boundary of the universe. Only the creator God knows the answer of your intelligent question. Science in unable to give any convincing answer.

The theory that the Universe originated from a tiny ball (big bang theory) and will end with the Big Crunch, seems to suggest that there is something beyond the universe; where did the Big Bang take place? If the universe is constantly expanding, there has to be place for it to expand, that lies outside our universe.

There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.
