We do.

BUT, there's limited shoreline available for that sort of thing. Consider that fish-farmable coastal waters account for probably less than 1% of total ocean area. That means that there's lots more fish out in the open ocean, and we're still depleting them.

I have seen that salmon and tuna are bred and then released into the sea to counteract over fishing. Not sure about other species.

we do. but the question is why not make it how we get the majority of our fish. i think people that are greedy which is a large majority find it easier to rape our oceans to get what they want without having to pay for a facility's.fish eggs, breeding, its alot harder to do it the Right way. where i live on there treasure coast of Florida 90% of our reef has been destroyed by the nets they drag across the bottom for fishing. when they showed what it looks like now it looks like a desert. barren. an they said it destroyed what took 1000 years to make an one square foot held 20,000 or so lifeforms. but its also illegal to fish that way but it only takes one person who doesn't care to ruin all that

Yes, we do, but it's not easy in most species. Fish in farms have for example more parasites (it's easy to spread in so dense population). Fish farms also take the place of valuable natural biotops, with other endangered species than fish.

they are already here, carp. People want what is in short supply because of the snob appeal. If it is rare , they have to have it, that makes it more rare. like wild salmon, vs farm salmon. No one can really taste the difference.
