Hi, I was asked this question for homework and was wondering if anyone had the answer.

I had suggestions like 'air' and 'gravitation', but I'm not really sure.

Technically, the answer is "anything." I think a simpler answer to your question might be "pressure" as a so-called perfect vacuum has a gaseous pressure of absolute zero, even though this is impossible in reality. Click the link below for more information.
