Will California continue on it's path of rapid decline in both social, economic, political; as well as problems regaurding it's state and local governments?

When will things ever improve? Or is that just wishful thinking that CA can ever turn around in it's sinister ways?

in answer to your first question.. yes. CA's future looks bleak. You can also say yes to the second of your questions. Your third question... NO. and your last question... yes.
However... we are dealing with mankind.. a most unusual species. The Feelgood atmosphere that has governed California since the mid 50s has contributed mightily to its downfall. But its not the ONLY problem facing CA. Over population, lack of good jobs, lack of affordable housing, "Free" Housing and Healthcare to Non Citizens... All of these and so much more are piling on to the problems on the coast. There is a general Attitude in CA that... were here because were better than you, that makes the rest of the nation really hope CA falls off into the ocean with the next big quake. You define popularity for the rest of the nation with people Id be ashamed to introduce to my mother, then you turn around and elect them into office!
So.. how do you fix it? You cant. Every person in CA has got to be willing to realize that they hold the keys to their own manmade cell in hell. They have to be willing to put people into office who ARENT out there because theyre popluar, but because they truely want to do good for the people. Special intrests be damned, do whats needed to be done for the citizenry of CA.

And thats not gonna happen. Not as long as Britny Spears is more important than a homeless shelter that actually gets people jobs.

Lets compare it to Michigan
30% of Detroit is unemployed, or underemployed (i.e. people have to work several part time jobs)
we have the second highest unemployment rate in the country
1 in 9 have applied for food stamps
26% of children in the 4th richest county in the United States (Oakland County) go to bed hungry
Our Governor has pie in the sky plans and no way to back it up (really, a plan to put an alternative fuel gas stationon every corner sounds grand, but HOW? oh well that, never mind)
We just filled the last jail bed we had available (we have the 5th highest number of prisons in the country) so we are letting people out early
and the largest body of fresh water in the WORLD suurounds us, and its so polluted that along every beach and pier are signs to eat no more than two fish per year because they are a health hazard.
What are you complaining about?
