Despite an obvious shortage of talent at a few positions, the Jets have closed the gap on New England and they did so in coach Eric Mangini's 1st year. Next season could be Chad Pennington's last shot to show he is the right QB for this team. To improve however, they must replace RE Kimo von Oelhoffen to strengthen their soft run defense. Also 4 CBs rotated at the right corner spot last year and none distinguished himself. Also look for them to get better at RB. They are considering drafting RB Antonio Pittman from Ohio State with the 25th overall pick in the draft. The Jets will look to free agency to get a corner and DE. Could finally win the division and should get a wild card if they don't.

Considering that they made it last year with a brand new coach, I have to vote yes for their return. Last years improvements to the line through the drafting of Ferguson and Mangold should really start to show up this year. I think Pennington is underrated and with some real protection could do something special. If the Jets could land a running back that could make an immediate impact in the draft this year, someone equivilant to Maroney or Addai, I think they could be a real contender again in 2007.

Maybe. Look at Parcells and the Cowboys. He took them his first year with them. It took him 3 years to get them back to the playoffs.

Lets see, the Jets still play in the AFC right..... So that would be a NO!
