I'm afraid of driving over bridges.

I'd try to get over it by being able to ride in the car with someone else driving without completely freaking out.
Then, I'd try to be able to ride with another driver and actually be able to look out the window the whole time.
Then, I'd try to be able to drive myself across the bridge with another person in the car.

(I've only gotten to step 2. Still pretty afraid of bridges, even though it's incredibly irrational.)

I'm scared to death of heights.
And I dont do anything to work through that fear. I think its a perfectly natural fear (although mine is a bit intense) and I dont care if I never get to see New York from the top of the Empire State Building, it just aint that big a deal to me.

Not to mention that I have no idea how to go about working through that fear. I've been to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris with my family when I was young, and I nearly passed out I was so terrified. Confronting it does no good.

I'm afraid of my kids choking. They are 9 and 14. I let them eat whole hot dogs now. Up until they were 8, we put them in the blender. My sister choked on a hot dog when she was a kid.

I am afraid of contracting another sexually transmitted disease. I've had/have venereal warts and herpes. It would destroy me to have to go through that pain again.

I'm afraid of wooden Popsicle sticks. I had a lot of throat swabs when I was a kid and wooden Popsicle sticks give me the heebie jeebies. I don't sit with people when they eat from wooden Popsicle sticks.

I'm afraid of heights. But I think it's a healthy fear, so I choose not to work through it.
