Reboot your Desktop. Turn on your laptop. Your laptop will automatically detect your wireless router. Select your wirless point and enter your password. That's it. I also have Linksys.

Long passwords. That really is the key. Stupidly long passwords are near impossible to crack. Seriously. If you want to be really secure, do not use words in the dictionary, mix upper and lower case, and use some symbols. 15 characters seems to be about the max length most brute force password crackers can handle.
