Because they took large portions of the Byzantine Empire including parts of Turkey and the Middle East. These had been parts of the Byzantine Empire since before the collapse of Rome.

Didn't they eventual destroyed the Byzantine Empire or am I thinking the Ottoman.

because they were very powerful.their canon is the one of the powerful canon in that era.their army was the most displin.that age was a golden age of seljuk turk.truly magnificent
