Who "overrates" the player? Isn't it the media that over-hypes the players, isn't it the club owners who are willing to pay a lot for the players, isn't it the fans who are crazy about the players? Why do we like to put players on a pedestal and then knock them down afterwards?

No, no, no. You are right. It's all the media and what other people say about that player. It's not the player's fault at all, unless they are doing the talking too.

50/50, 50 is the media hype and the club owners who need the publicity, and the other 50 is for the player, if he is mature enough to play for his team.

Too many players are spoiled and some of them don't even want to train! The last resort, they go to another team, where the hype follows them.

player is overrated because of the media. the reason is probably the club paid a lot of him or fans just love him

I think it's never the player's fault, because you hear all the hype about the player the first time they do something good, and people are ready to basically worship them, then once they screw up, everyone starts going "I knew they weren't that good". People need to let the player's skills, not their personal opinion, define them.
