a lack of commitment - due to uncertainty as to the outcome. when people are afraid of being challenged in any way, they will either wthdraw, or prepare to fight. fighting is obviously a very poor choice, so running away becomes the best option. talk is the best way to overcome this, difficult though it might be for those involved. I hope you may still be able to talk about it.

Man I knew a guy like that.. he had not seen his daughter in 11 years and she was 13, He promised her a motorcycle, a car, things that were out of her reach because of her age.
He did this for the need to be considered *better off than he was*.. for a better image. In the long run he lost...
when she turned 16 then she wanted *expected* these promises to be fulfilled // and he could not due to his finances...
It was not worth the trip around the block as... She returned home to her Mother.
AND he doesn't see anything *wrong* in him... lol
Is a *little person* complex I think. Feel sorry for them because they have a need for acceptance and a need to be loved.. they just don't know how to go about it using *just love*

They are perhaps bored, or perhaps hope-full romantics to the notion they can have it. Or they are pipe dreaming as well. My first wife loved to take cars for test drives and have no plans on buying the vehicle.
I know it grinds my gears to get tire kickers that have no intention on buying. I ask them to bring their cash to take a test drive and they think I'm a real A Hole. So be it.
