I am looking for cases in Kansas in the past few years of which the parents who commited the crime and the child died, got off with little to no sentence. I am trying to make a point that our laws when concerning the abuse/death of a child should change.
Also if anyone knows the name or where i can get information about the death of a child in Gardner Kansas a few years ago where her father killed himself and her on the train tracks i would much appreciate it. I can't even find her name to get info on it.
Thanks again.

I am doing a persussaive speech ( I appologize for spelling errors, it's late and i am very tired) and this is what i feel strongly about. I am just having problems finding the exact cases I am looking for to look further into.

You are trying to make a conclusion before doing the work. Do the paper first, with AVAILABLE sources, and then form your opinion based on the research.

Your lack of ability to find examples of such cases tends to lend evidence to a contrary reality.

My two cents.

For what it worth, all Police Departments keep crime statistics, as well as State DOJ's, the Federal DOJ, and the FBI. Most (except local Police) have those results accessible on-line.

And Judges must use "Sentencing Guidelines". Cut and paste that to a web-search. There are parameters for sentences for crimes, whether a crime or a felony.

Why don't you talk to some corrupt judges that got bamboozled and fooled into thinking these assholes deserve a light sentance.

The real problem is that people who kill children, especially their own, are going to do it no matter what the consequences are.
