Chatrooms, Myspace, dating websites like Match, Yahoo Personals? Have you ever tried it, what was your experience? What do you think, would you prefer to meet someone in other traditional ways, like out, or through a blind date through a friend??

Meeting online usta be a great way to get to know someone..i had 2 long term relationships from the net...I believe in it...as long as we are cautious...I would recommend that if you meet in person, make sure you meet in a well let area, etc...use your common sense and good judgement..good luck!

I always thought online dating sounded stupid but now, since I’m dating a guy I met from MySpace, I guess I can’t really say that anymore. I think it's fine as long as you use your common sense. For example, you should always meet in a public place just in case the person turns out to be a complete psycho. Online dating is an awesome invention for some people. It comes in handy when you’re in a slump and you’re not meeting much people and it works wonders for shy people.
I’ve always had trouble meeting people since I have social phobia. I got a MySpace and for a month talked to this guy before finally meeting him. I’d say that I actually preferred this kinda date compared to normal ones because I was able to chat with him online and I got to know him without being extremely nervous.
Even if I wasn't so shy, I think I'd still really like the idea of dating people from MySpace. It's really cool cuz a lot of times you can see so much of the person’s personality-- the way they decorate their page, the things they write, the comments their friends leave, their pictures, etc. And the coolest thing about thiiis dating service is the fact that it’s freeee.

It realy depends on your schedule. If you're a busy professional and have a hard time meeting people, I think online dating is a good option.
I would prefer to meet people in more traditional ways (not a blind date though)....but just hanging out with friends.

I met a guy through Myspace had grown to really care for him, but he revealed to me five months later that he was unhappily married. unhappy or not, I can not bare the title homewrecker, I had to reclaim my good name and break up with him. I currently am not a member of any dating/social networking site, I do not want to bond with phonies.
I rather meet people the traditional way.

I perfer to find mine in person but have heard so many happily ever ending stories of those found online that I would not condemn them. Just be very careful. And if you agree to meet in person I would recommend a public place and bring a friend along the first time.

I wouldn't recommend chatrooms as there is a chance you could run into a sexual predator or a pervert. I met my sweetheart through yahoo7 answers. I answered one of her questions and she noticed one of my resolved questions and noticed that I love music like her and wanted to know if she could email me. Through our emails we developed a mutual admiration, trust, and friendship. I always got excited reading her emails and we had so much in common and se developed feelings for each other. Then she asked after doing that a while if she could call me and of course I said yes and I fell in love with her shortly after hearing her voice on the phone. We met each other in person in Nashville and it was if we had known each other all our life. We are in love and the bond is so strong! She will be coming to Georgia this summer and being my Georgia girl. We are meant for each other and will spend the rest of our lives together.

Well I met my husband through a chat room. I agreed to a date when he let me pick the restaurant. It worked out for us.
