I think it's about new love and how you can sit around and talk about everything and nothing at the same time. Just enjoying each other's company and forgetting everything else for awhile. Great song...one of my favorites. Here's a link with other people's opinions about the meaning plus the lyrics.

It's about me,,,,he wrote it about me,,,,how everyone in the world is so busy,and your so lonely even in a crowded mall.....and I am so lonely, and when someone sacrifices a llittle bit of time for me,,,,,they can only stay for a couple minutes because they have all their obligations on their minds......... and I wish someone would just lay here,,,,and forget the world with me.
