OK - the a$$ that answered before this is wrong.

Higher testosterone levels in women can be very harmful if left untreated for a long period of time. Studies have shown that a greater percentage of women with breast cancer have elevated levels of T. In the short term, androgen hair growth (beard, moustache) along with baldness, deepened voice, mood swings, your period will stop or slow down, weight gain, sleeplessness. YOu should go get checked for the following things ASAP:

1) Iron deficency.
2) Thyroid function (diease) can sometimes elevate the T levels.
3) PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome).

Its better to be safe than sorry -so go get checked!

Good luck sister!
