I had received a gift card for some tanning sessions and was going to start setting up my appointments and then I found out I was pregnant and my OB/GYN told me to DEFINATELY to not use a tanning bed. He said it could raise my body temp and harm or kill the baby. It is not worth the risk to the baby in order to look better.

I used to work at a tanning salon and we highly recommended that women did not go tanning while pregnant just because it raises your body temperature and that could not be good for the baby. But I saw girls all the time that came in to tan so I guess it just depends on what you feel is best for the baby.

It is not a good idea to be tanning while you are pregnant. The UV rays that the beds bulbs let off is unsafe not only to your body while your are pregnant. Tanning regularly even when you are not pregnant is not a good idea and can cause long term health issues.

ABSOLUTELY YES.

I would never endorse the use of a tanning bed simply for getting a tan at the best of times, they are just as harmful as sunshine in causing premature ageing, skin cancer and general skin damage.

But if you are pregnant, they also have the added double whammy of exposing your baby to unnessary levels of radiation and causing your body to overheat, both of which are dangerous to you and your baby.

Please, give the salon a miss. Forever.

Yes. Tanning beds really don't tan, they turn your blood orange basically. Blood is a source of nutrients, etc. that goes between you and your baby. Therefore, tanning beds are not good while pregnant. If this is something you still have a question about, please ask your ob/gyn. Congrats on the baby! Take care.

basically microwaving yer kid, your body is warm, sweating a lil if your skin isn't already overcooked from years of abusing the beds when ya have to start using the moisturizing "past your plateau" garbage lotions...bad sign...grandma in florida might still look good, but never had the beds in her 20's and 30's
