You mean after conception?

Normally your pregnancy hormones will have reached a level where they able to override your normal bodily functions, so to speak, about 3-4 weeks after you have conceived, usually about 5-6 weeks after the start of your last period.

Prior to this, your normal hormones that normally kick off things like PMT/PMS (breast tenderness, bloating, mood swings etc etc) will still be doing their stuff.

What normally happens is PMS/PMT symptoms kick in and then just go on for longer than normal, and increase in intensity.

This is why the symptoms of PMS/PMT and early pregnancy are often confused for each other.

You probably shouldn't go by "symptoms". Some women experience no symptoms at first. Your mind can also play tricks on you if you're wanting to be pregnant. When my bf and I were trying to get pregnant I thought I felt all kinds of so called symptoms but I was never pregnant. When we finally stopped actually trying, my period ended up being three days late and I tested positive...never even had a symptom! Just my opinion though :)

Well, they count it from your last menstrual cycle. So, *if* you were pregnant, you would count the first day of your last period as the first day of pregnancy... and then I think like 3-4 weeks after that, you could start having early pregnancy symptoms.
