I have one Answer for everyone. Ok im going to make everyone RICHER, if youd just listen to me this is going to save you some serious $$$$ over your whole lifetime. Go though your wallet or purse, grab every credit card you own and RIP EM UP! Pay off the balance right now and just use your visa debit card for the rest of your life. It dosent make any sense you can easily save money for that new sofa or tv so what you cant wait a paycheck or two? Whats wrong with you? It cost you money to pay those bills and credit cards are not convienient. The only thing i think is nessecary is a loan for your house, and a loan for your car and a loan for your school. thats it. keep it simple.

Credit is way too easy to obtain and they prey on the weak willed by dangling the ability to buy shiny things. It is not getting better if anything it is getting worst. We are a people of immediate gratification and credit card companies know that. My daughters started getting CC applications at 8 years old - they are members of airline frequent flyer's and the CC companies buy lists and do not ever screen by age - they are the Jackals of the financial world

yes, people give credit to people who already have a ton of debt. Why would you even offer credit to someone who is already way over their heads. What if they lost their jobs, became disabled?

Might be true but hard to tell since contributions to IRAs are not considered "savings" for the purposes of most Fed published data. That's a lot of equity not accounted for.

Not really, but people need to stop spending money they don't have. We are a very materialized and selfish nation. This is the reason we are in debt.

People are not responsible for their actions anymore. Sure, blame the credit cards for easy access, blame McDonalds for getting fat....
I am responsible for my own actions.
