I don't know why their minds can't grasp that this war was wrong from the beginning...

What bothers me is that even if we so-called 'win', we still lose. We lose because we sold our souls and country to a madman that is responsible for invading and conquering a nation just because he could... no other reason. They were no threat to us. Saddam was contained. Now, my country has the blood of over 600k Iraqi civilians on its hands.

I think the lot of us have spoken! You don't get it. You generalize what you don't know. Have you ever talked to anyone that was kicked out of there country? Know that they made only 3 $ a month? That they were beat on the streets on a daily basis? Our troops Have done an amazing job. They love there job. They have years of wrong doing to undo. And years of bad training to change. That does not happen overnight. The people of Iraq are overjoyed and in tears when they talk of our troops and what they have done for them. Stop watching CNN and buy a plane ticket and actually talk to someone. Go to the 100's of other towns in Iraq and see that they are not drinking raw sewage. They have churches of all kinds, jewish, christian...and there is no blood shed. They have jobs, They are making money, Thay have families that are not afraid to walk down the street. The bad guys are where the cameras are. Because they know our news channels will show the negative and that it is all bush's fault. The man has done an amazing job keeping this country safe. And it is the few morons that don't know what they are talking about that ruin it for everyone. I am surprised to see that you haven't said that we are there for oil. No War for Oil. or did you forget to add that to your rediculous tangent? That would have saved a lot of us from wasting our time and energy because than we would have known that you were having a temporary lapse of intelligence. You have the right to your opinion. But you don't have the right to be ignorant. Are you or have you ever been to war? Are you married to or family to a soldier?
Actually your comment tells me the answer is NO!!! Thanks for being totally uninformed about life outside of your playstation.

Mem i'm glad you believe all Republicans are rich. If so we have a huge percentage of very wealthy individuals.

I fail to see how it is wrong or unjust. You provided no reasons behind this statement so I can't refute what you said since you made a subjective statement without any proof. Maybe to you its unjust and wrong but you cant just say that without some reasoning as to why its that way. As for the war being unwinnable thats if we try to act like the Iraqis are civilized human beings. If we merely placed a military government in place which put down the Iraqi insurgents by massacring large groups of civilians, we could easily win. We would set up a stable government much the same as Saddam's but the new leader would be more favorable to US interests. Since our actions have 0 effect on the perception of America in the Mid East we really have nothing to lose among them. The rest of the world will be pissed off and complain and rise a big stink but in the end will do nothing. If we did that then you could say its unjust and wrong.

First of all, I don't seriously think it is about Republicans or Democrats, it's about the distorted opinion of some people that believe that violence and killing can solve problems, and that is why we are in this horrific problem. Secondly this is not a war, but an occupation and any student of history can tell you there has never been an occupation that has prevailed successfully. We are standing waist deep in the biggest mess any one man could create, but this goes beyond political parties, it is now about 3000 dead American boys and girls and 22,000 maimed and injured. Let us stop blaming each other and work on a concerted effort to put a stop to this craziness!

Why can't Democrats understand that by going into Iraq, we got rid of Saddam Hussein? Saddam, the guy who set up death camps, slaughtered entire towns of his own citizens, and violated international ceasefire orders?

Why can't Democrats understand that while terrorism can never be entirely eradicated, we ARE winning the war? There are a lot more dead terrorists than there are dead Americans, and we have managed to avoid further terrorist attacks. Even Britain, Spain, and FRANCE (for crying out loud) have fallen victim to terrorism since the start of the war, yet America has kept the fight out of our country.

Why can't Democrats understand that by opposing the war so strongly, they are only encouraging the terrorists? If we pull out too early, then they will build back up, just as strong as before.

Why can't Democrats understand that they are huge hypocrits? Politicians like Hillary want to pull out of Iraq, and go intervene in Sudan. The crimes commited by the two countries are comparably horrendous, but why would we leave a strategically important country to help out in one with no value to us whatsoever? Ideally, we could "fix" both countries, but if it's one or the other, shouldn't we have OUR interests in mind, too? The president took an oath to protect and enhance our country's status, and thats sure as heck what I want him to do.

The troops went to Iraq to proudly defend our country after they were told by Bush & Cheney that Saddam posed a threat because he had WMDs. Many of the troops now feel they've been lied to by the Bush administration. As a result, they feel betrayed. We were lied into this war. Saddam was no longer a threat to us. He was contained and controlled. The RepubliCONS love war, because they profit by it and they still believe the lies. It's time to get out and direct our efforts at the most notorious criminal in history, Osama bin laden. He's the instigator of 9-11, not Saddam. What a shame that 600,000 innocent civilians have been killed during this unjustified war.

which % of troops did said that? So you only worried about the ones who directly participate on 9/11 but not the ones who support them? Iraq's Saddam had WMD (some are found already), fund terrorists, and threatened us. We killed him, primary goal done! But you must rebuild the country - that is right to do! You cannot leave the Iraqis to Iran or terrorists; if you ignore them now, you are far evil than killing your enemies! We already won - we need to help Iraq government!

Because we won't admit what isn't true, no matter how many times you repeat it. Troops never want to be on the front lines, those who do tend to get carried back. As far as the Iraqi people go, they can fight until the end of time once we get their own troops set up.

First of all you are not one to speak for the troops and you shouldn't believe everything you hear on 60 minutes. Secondly it is not about being just it is about the survival and the well being of the USA.
