sydb1967- You don't find it at all suspicious that Pelosi has all of a sudden distanced herself from Murtha?

I am one of those swing voters. Perhaps I have an unusual store of patience, but I expect some contention within the ranks when it comes to a problem as complicated as Iraq. I'd rather them hash it out and come to a well thought out and well argued position than to rush headlong into an action that may backfire on them and the troops. We have enough problems, I don't want Congress to add to them, I want them to help solve them. I guess I really didn't expect them to move forward in one collective quick wave. I know we've been in Iraq too long. But the majority Congress was just sworn in in January. We have had four years of complications and misfires in Iraq. To me, if we have to wait another month, or two, for Congress to come to grips on what to do I'll just have to trust that they are doing the right thing. They're the last hope to do something about this chaos, at least until a new President is sworn in.

Inaction was before November, when a normal day was shaking hands, patting each other on the back and wondering where to go to lunch. It is easy to get into war--America spoke--we want out. I admire Reid, Pelosi and Murtha for their strength under extreme scrutiny.

People are starting to realize that the only "platform" that the Dems had was whining and complaining...now when asked to actually do something...they go for NON-Binding ...do nothing legislation...people will not put up with it...either something will be done...I doubt it...or people will put the GOP back as they at least try things...right or wrong...

They will put up with it longer than they are going to tolerate the Republic party blocking and filibustering Congress.... wasting taxpayer's dollars.

Voters who supported the Democrats must encourage them to do their job as expected in order not to demoralize who supported them. It is practically disenfranchizing them.

There is no question about it. The Democrats are operating on borrowed time. 2008 will be the end.

NO worries there!!! Bush is still in office and he is doing a bang up job of keeping the vote swinging in the other direction!
Most people do realize that the democrats can't really do squat seeing as Bush himself said so. It's his way!!!
