I feel bad for the old, for the poor, and for the old poor people, and for those other poeple who exhaustedly try to make a living and having a low income job at the same time

Depends on the situation! Yes I feel sympathy for others who have suffered at the hands of others or because of some type of accident.
But I do have trouble feeling sorry for those who obviously caused there own problems - repeatedly.

As in...that only happens to other people? Let me tell you friend, anything can happen to anybody. There is a great lottery of suffering and just pray that your number doesn't come up. I used to believe that bad things only happened to other people, but that was before my mom was diagnosed with a dementia causing disease and my sister-in-law had a stroke. There is a good book entitled Why Bad Things Happen to Good People that trys to help people deal with situations they thought only happened to those "other" people.
