I received my first Depo shot in May of 2006 & the last shot I recieved was in August of 2006. I started having my normal period about 3 months after that & has been normal ever since. I know it can take a while to concieve after being on the depo shot but being that I am having a normal period, does this mean I am most likely having my normal ovulation? I have read the longer you are on it the longer it can take. I'm hoping since I wasnt on it very long that I will be able to concieve sooner. My fiance will be leaving for the army in three months & we hope to get pregnant before he leaves. Any information would be greatly appreciated as well as any personal experience similar to this that could inform us a little more. I'm hoping that we still have a shot before he leaves.

Thanks in advance!

Get an ovulation prediction kit, the saliva ones are cheapest in the long term. Then you will know for sure.

Otherwise it can take up to a year to get pregnant normally, and up to 18 months after you stop Depo.

Every person is different but most likely if you only had two depo shots and have been done since Aug this would probably put it out of your system in Nov. If you are concerned about ovualtion you can buy and ovualltion predictor kit (pee sticks) to track when you ovulate (start taking on day 11 after first days of period) or you can track basal body temp (which takes a few month to start to see patterns) or you can use a saliva scope which show a ferning pattern when fertile. Most of all remember to relax and have fun. Good Luck!!
