It's laughing when you aren't supposed to, but I never understood it either. Actually, I think it's some control freak that made up the rule because they are a miserable piece of crap.

"inappropriate laughter" depends on society. i do it all the time and people think i'm weird. i am because it is funny! sheesh!

didja ever laugh during a funeral sermon 'cuz soemthing struck you as funny or absurd? i have....very inapropriate....
also, some people laugh instead of cry in situations....stress, grief, etc...
