Are you more likely to fall pregnant on the day of ovulation or a few days before? Also if its a few days before would the due date be from the day you had sex or the day of ovulation?

Best to have sex a day or so before ovulation so the sperms are there waiting for the egg as the egg is only viable for 12-24 hours after it matures. Regardless of when actual conception occured, your due date is figured exactly 40 weeks after the first day of your last period.

So, you have a normal period. About two weeks later, you ovulate for the next period. But, you've been having sex every other day about this time and get pregnant. Your body won't know you're actually pregnant for up to12 days after conception, and you won't know until14 days after, which is when your period will be late. At the doctors visit, they'll ask you the date of the first day your last period started. That will determine the due date of the baby.

You should begin having sex a couple days before you ovulate (because sperms live longer than eggs, so they can survive inside of you and wait until the egg is released) but having sex on the day of ovulation, definitely won't hurt! Your due date is set from the date of your last period. (as in when it is said that you are 4 weeks pregnant, you will have conceived only 2 weeks ago, does that make sense?)

Your most fertile time is 24-48 hours before ovualtion and up to 24 hours after ovualtion. You due date is determined from the first day of your last period. (at least that is how the drs do it) Good Luck!!
