auto shop has changed over the years , and is no longer for bad or failing students , there is much more electronic , and computer controlled vehicles , that a good thinking mind is required , so dont take it , if youre just looking for a easy class

Depends on the program at your school. When I went to auto mechanics class for two years. I used all kinds of diagnostic equipment including a $30,000 computer. Used a brake rotor grinding machine to resurface brake rotors and drums. Watched a lot of movies. Had BBQ's on fridays out the back of the shop. Used a high pressure/high temp steam cleaner to clean parts. Helped Build an entire circle track race car. We fixed teachers' cars. Got to bring our own cars in. Went on field trips. It was just a fun class that was just someplace to go at the end of the day and learn and have fun. Of course this attracts idiots and lazy people that just sit around and they get to clean the shop or get a zero.
