Yes, I have gained weight while on the pill, it's primarily just water but it is still very annoying. The average weight gain as some of the other posters have said is 5-10 pounds.

Yeah, it is very normal to gain 5-10lbs on BC pills. I moved away from home when I started taking them so I lost 30 just because I wasn't around as much food. Generally speaking though, 5 lbs is average.

It seems to me that you're getting your BC pills over the counter and that these are not actually prescribed by your doctor; otherwise, you would have already asked for the doctor's opinion regarding your concerns.
Gaining weight might be a normal side effect of taking BC pills but we can't be 100% sure that this just the case. I'm not an alarmist but when it comes to my health, my body, I'd rather play it safe.
If you're not happy with your pills, please see a doctor.

Unfortunatly yes. any hormone based birth control will cause some weightgain. If you are worried about it, eat more salad, and walk for five minutes a day. (anyone can afford a salad at the grocerystore for 2$ and five minutes out of the day to walk). I actually enjoy walking with my daughter, and she tends to steal half my salads......
