Exercise is one of the top reasons for missing periods. Increasing your exercise will cause your body to make a readjustment and then you'll start menstruating. Estrogen is produced in fat tissue, so if you are changing that, it can cause you to miss some periods. Additionally, women with less than 5% of fat will consequently not ovulate, and thus not menstruate.
Have no fear though! If you miss it for like 6 months, I might worry, but exercise, stress, travel, weight loss, weight gain, illness, all those things can cause you to delay or miss a period or so (this is according to the wonderful book I cited as my source by the way). Good luck and don't stop exercising! You are doing yourself a huge favor!

Exercise CAN prevent menstruation. I am not sure how strenuous the exercise has to be to do this but here are a couple links about it. There are also other factors that may cause a missed period. Try cutting back on the exercise and see if it comes back. If it doesn't resume, consider talking to your doctor to see what else may be affecting your menstrual cycle.

Oh yes, any new event can effect your period, execise, stress, life changes, you name it, it will effect your period. Not to worry. Now if you miss your period for a whole month, like 28 days, then talk to your gyno. If I was a betting woman, I would bet you will have your period any day now.
