Anything you do is a waste of money unless your whole building does it and has the ground treated as well.

I'm a little confused about your question-- if you live in an apartment-it would have to be part of a bigger building. That being said, if the rest of the building becomes infested with termites they will eventually find their way to your apartment. I assume you own your apartment because if you don't it is your landlords headache if you get infested with termites, not yours. If you own your apartment and it is ground level, you can have a company like terminex come out and they charge nothing to check for termites and only charge for spraying if they found them and they can also bury around the foundation a chemical that will keep the termites from infesting -- but this is expensive and they usually do this after they found them and treated the building....good luck

mac is right. If you don't own the apartment building, then it is your landlords responsibility. If you are the landlord then call in the professionals, they have access to the "good" chemicals. Who you call is your decision. If you live in an area where you have 3 or more months of snow, ice, etc each year, then one thing they don't tell you is that after paying all that money for them to drill holes around your house to put in bait stations, is that they won't check them from about a month before winter starts through about a month after winter ends. This means you pay for a year's worth of service, but only get 6 to 7mos. if you live middle mid-west, farther north and you would see the exterminator even less. Hope this helps.

if you own the apartment then you can have a company check and put some repeller on the apartment they dont charge much for this i dont think if you rent it let the landlord know whats going on and that you think it would be best if a crew came out checked for them they look like small white ants with wings
they can eat posts for a deck from the inside out from a single hole underground you may not know it until your on the ground with a broken deck termites are no joke and can really eat you out of your house

termites in an apartment building are for the landlord to deal with, make sure the landlord is aware of the problem. Any land lord that will not deal with this problem asap is stupid, so find another place to live fast.
