Who knows why it happened? Stress, exercise, travel, medicines, illness, weight gain or loss... They can all change when you ovulate, and thus, when you have your period. There is a lovely book that I will reference below that goes step by step with you about your period and when you ovulate and such if you are curious. It is a pretty easy read, and amazingly informative.

Most likely it's nothing to worry about. I think when we get older it just changes (I'm guessing). I used to be like you. I used to get mine every 28 days, not a day more or less, and then it changed to every 26 days. I'm curious to what other people say though, because I never gave it a second thought until now.

My mom has this saying, "our bodies change every 7 years", thus change in mentral cycle. I have to agree with her. I have gone though that, no big deal, just make sure you track your periods and when you go for your yearly, discuss it w/ your doc.
