at least 2 pieces of ID. SS cards are not considered IDs in some banks so you might want to use something other than that.
You need a primary ID and /or secondary ID.

Primary ID:
-passport
-driver's license
-State ID
-or any government issued ID

2ndary ID:
-Credit cards
-Any ID w/ a photo and a signature

That's pretty much all you need.

You will need your permanent residency card. Anything else you may have to establish your permanent address (utility bill, driver's license, etc) will be helpful too.
After 9/11 banks were mandated to establish your identity using a permanent ID card (like a social security card, or green card) and they have to have a physical address for you too. They will also run your information against an OFAC database, to make sure they can open an account for you.
If you have any questions you may want to visit http://www.treas.gov/offices/enforcement/ofac/

These are the rules banks have to follow

bring at least 2 forms of identification, such as your perm. res. card, stuff like that that proves you're here legally

check with the bank beforehand how much money is required to start an account so you won't be charged fees, that way you bring enough money.

i don't think you need more than that, its definetely a good idea to call the bank beforehand and ask them about it. they'll know for sure ;)

Bring whatever you have, resident card, soc security, drivers license, job ID, rent reciepts, last pay stub, etc. If they ask for it, you have it.

Good luck.
