do you think all that hype surrounding the awards show was worth it. In your opinion do you think it was all about the movies or was it just a place for celebrities to mingle and talk about future projects?

Actually...I believe it's alittle bit of both plus some. The awards have drastically changed since 1929..lol During the first years maybe more the awards were for anyone that wanted to attend if they wanted to buy a ticket for a measly $5.00. Now the only way you can attend is by "invititation only" what does that state? I also believe it's an "ego" thing...lol A style show for the "rich and famous". Let's see who the "best" dressed is or the "worst" dressed and vote on it. Now I have to admit that some are there for the excellent work that they have achieved for in acting, directing, etc...and they have worked hard in most cases. But face it..some of them are there just to "show off" and get publicity. Others don't like the glamour and sneak in without having to go down the red carpet...lol..like Jack Nicholson for one.But all in all I think it's alittle bit of both and maybe to wind down from their busy acting careers and gossip...lol!

the academy awards just like the Super bowl. is WAY over promoted to god like qualities all because the dumb a s s media doesnt know to do any better. they promote all this stuff like it is the second coming. but.. they do this cause many idiots. apparently enough of them fall for it hook line and sinker. i dont watch any of the award shows. its all about Pandering to people anymore instead of actual talents.

I know the entire production was way too long. They need to find a way to cut it down to 2 hrs or less.

Who really cares? I have a choice of channels so I watch something else or find something else to do. If anyone finds them too long , you are not using your freewill obviously.
