I mean most of the time it is left up, i never sit on it, i dont think its fashion#

Toilets have a lid so women can moan at men foeleaving it up. Just ask my wife.

Leaving the toilet seat lid up is somewhat a health risk. You flush and minute water droplets enter the atmosphere in the bathroom, letting toilet water land on all the surfaces in the room.
So, tell me....
Where do you leave your toothbrush? Or the washcloth for your face?

a) To keep things from falling in.
b) To close when you flush, otherwise feces and toilet water will spray straight into the air and land on your favorite toothbrush.
c) Some people also like to be able to sit on the toilet to cut their nails, etc, and not sit on the actual seat with their pants half in the bowl.

Because the mouth of the Closet is too big. Hence you can not sit comfortably and dream.
If we have a small closet cleaning which will be difficult.
That's why having a pretty Lid on it.
We lazy males lift it up for pissing and leave it lifted.

the next time u put your foot on the toilet to dry off leave the lid up after a few times u will be drying your foot after it slides into the toilet BEEN THERE DONE THAT!

the seat is designed to confuse people too drunk to look before they sit!
I checked out the toilet museum (above) it was really fun. It also helps flush away old misconceptions, showing they were a bunch of cr@p!

Four reasons:
Convention;
to provide somewhere to sit after a bath or shower & while brushing your teeth;
to keep the rats out of the house;
to keep the dog out of the drinking hole.
