When your water breaks is it really like a huge gush and it'll show through clothes like they make it seem? Or is it just like a discharge? I wanna know what to expect. I'm due in a week.

It could be either. Everyone is different.

Well...my was a huge gush! Even sort of gross! I was lying in the bed when it happened...NO WARNING!! However, I must say, I was pregnant w/ twins but, I don't know if that would make a difference in the "feeling" of your water breaking. My husband drove me to the hospital about 10 miles away and I "leaked" the entire trip! We even got caught by the train, and I still didn't deliver until 10:00am the next morning! TRUST me...you will know the difference in your water breaking and having a bladder attack! Good luck & congrats!! P.S.....YES...it will come through your clothes!

It could be either .I woke up like I wet the bed. Then when I started walking I would have little gushes and pain at the same time .I had to walk 2 blocks down the road to my moms house and my water leaked most of the way and the more water that came out the more pain I had.

With my 1st son my water didn't break until my son was born. He was "born in the caul" which just means he was born still in the sac.

With my 2nd I got up to go pee at about 1:30 am. I stood up and felt a little stickle down my leg. It felt like I was peeing myself. Wasn't a gush. If I coughed or sneezed a big gush came out though.

yes it is a major gush of warm water and a whole lot of it! I have had 3 children and that is exactly how it is and yes your pants will be soaked so be ready. But it is nothing to worry or be uncomfortable about it is very natural it is all part of giving birth so don't worry yourself about it .

It could be either, your water may not even break. My sister was having labour pains and was dilating, but her water had not broken yet. They basically said next time we check your dilation we can break your waters for you and it will speed things up. Everyone is different I guess and you will just have to wait and see! I wouldn't worry about any embarrassment as it is perfectly natural. If anything you will just freak out other people as they rush to your assistance!
